Distinguished Friends and Supporters,
It fills me with deep gratitude and pride to reflect on the twelve-year journey of Being A Woman. What began with the simple yet profound goal of empowering women from marginalised segments of society has grown into a vibrant movement of education, advocacy, and hope.
Since 21st December, 2011, we have been steadfastly committed to uplifting women from the weaker sections of society. The day we secured a beautiful rented, air-conditioned premises marked the beginning of a new chapter. We welcomed ten children —including five children with developmental challenges—and five children from the poorest families. Our dedicated team stood ready to nurture their educational, health, and social needs with compassion and resolve.
To support this mission, all executive members pledged a modest one-time contribution of Rupees 5,000 each, along with a perpetual monthly commitment of Rupees 1,000. The enthusiasm and dedication of our friends and members have been truly inspiring—fueling this caravan of hope as it steadily moves forward.
Moreover, we have been deeply blessed by the generosity of many philanthropic individuals from the local community who have actively joined hands with us to advance this noble cause. To all of them, we extend our heartfelt thanks and sincere appreciation.
Five years ago, we established the Maulana Azad School with the vision to educate children from impoverished backgrounds and those with special needs, and the journey since then has been remarkable despite challenges.
Our progress was temporarily halted during the COVID-19 pandemic, but today, with resilience and renewed vigor, the school is flourishing again. While we remain in the early stages of realizing our dream of a fully-equipped, dedicated facility, we are confident that with the continued support of individuals, organizations, and corporations, this vision will soon be a reality.
Thank you for walking this path with us. Together, I am confident we will achieve greater milestones in empowering women and uplifting every child in need.
With heartfelt appreciation,

Prof. Abdul Matin
