Disaster Management Mock Drill: Strengthening Readiness in South Delhi

Practicing for Real Emergencies, Together

In accordance with the directive from the District Magistrate (DM) South Delhi and under the guidelines of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), a Mega Disaster Management Mock Drill was coordinated on 1 August 2025 across the SOUTH zone to test and strengthen multi-agency emergency response. Being A Woman was proud to participate in the activities held at the Saket Court site, ensuring real-world disaster readiness and community engagement.

Ambulance Deployment Across Key Sites

For this Mega Mock Drill, the District Administration selected five strategic locations to simulate disaster response mobile command, ambulance deployment, and coordinated relief efforts. Each location had designated sub nodal officers and ambulance units:

Sub nodal officers supervised each site, ensuring effective crowd management, emergency response simulation, and logistics.

Being A Woman’s Involvement at Saket Court

Our organization, Being A Woman, actively joined the exercise at Saket Court, assisting with drill procedures and strengthening local partnerships. As part of the on-site efforts:

  • Our team engaged in crisis simulation protocols, coordinated with first responders, and participated in the “Drop, Cover, and Hold” evacuation exercise.
  • We supported awareness activities, ensuring community members, government staff, and volunteers were briefed on emergency roles and safety measures.

Being A Woman’s presence underscored the vital role of NGOs in disaster resilience, focusing especially on inclusive safety for women, children, and vulnerable groups during emergencies.
