A Dream Realized: Inauguration of Maulana Azad School for Special Needs Children

April 5, 2018 — A Milestone in Inclusive Education

On April 5, 2018, a landmark day for Being A Woman and the community, the long-cherished vision of establishing a school dedicated to children with special needs and socially excluded backgrounds came to fruition with the inauguration of Maulana Azad School. This inclusive institution signifies a significant step forward in providing quality education tailored to uplift every child, regardless of their challenges.

A Vision Turned Reality

The project was officially approved during the Governing Body meetings earlier in February 2018. Funded through generous personal contributions from every member of the Governing Body, the school was thoughtfully set up in rented premises at Abul Fazal Enclave-I, Jamia Nagar, New Delhi. This collective commitment highlights the passion and dedication driving Being A Woman to make a lasting social impact.

A Prestigious Inauguration

The inauguration ceremony was graced by the esteemed Vice Chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, who honored the occasion as the chief guest. Distinguished guests from the local community as well as representatives from Alshifa Multi Speciality Hospital, New Delhi, were also present, underscoring the collaborative spirit and goodwill surrounding the new initiative.

The Vice Chancellor’s visit culminated with a memorable photograph alongside the members of the Governing Body of Being A Woman, symbolizing the unity and shared aspiration to foster inclusive education.

Our Continuing Journey

Since the inauguration, all members and volunteers have remained deeply involved throughout the year, dedicating time, effort, and resources to support the growth and successful daily operation of Maulana Azad School. The school continues to be a beacon of hope, nurturing the potential of children who were once deprived of such opportunities.

Looking Ahead

The establishment of Maulana Azad School marks not just the start of a new institution but a promise to the community to persistently advocate for inclusive education, comprehensive care, and social empowerment. We invite supporters and well-wishers to join us as we nurture brighter futures for these special children, encouraging independence, skill development, and dignity.

Join us in celebrating this milestone and support our mission to expand and enrich our educational efforts.
