Empowering Girls Through Skill Development: Embroidery and Arts & Crafts Training (Sept–Dec 2017)
Building Skills, Creating Opportunities
Between September and December 2017, Being A Woman proudly advanced its Skill Development Programme with impactful training sessions designed to empower young girls from marginalized communities.
Training Highlights
- September–October:
Ten girls completed an intensive two-month course focused on embroidery and handicrafts. This training equipped them with valuable artistic skills that blend traditional techniques with marketable crafts.
- November–December:
Building on this success, twenty more girls received training in various arts and crafts disciplines, further enhancing their creative capabilities and earning potential.
Pathway to Economic Independence
These skill-building initiatives open new doors for the participants by enabling them to generate income, support their families, and gain confidence through creative expression. By fostering vocational mastery, Being A Woman aims to break cycles of dependency and build a foundation for sustainable livelihoods.
Why It Matters
Empowering girls with practical skills not only transforms their futures but positively impacts their communities. Such programs cultivate self-reliance, build social networks, and promote gender equality—core values at the heart of our mission.
Together, we are stitching a brighter tomorrow—one craft, one skill, one empowered girl at a time.
